Akhilesh Gautam is an Urban Planner with 27 years of career experience in environmental sanitation, drinking water and hygiene earned largely through a staff member role in United Nations and libateral agencies to deliver technical, financial and resource assistance to the Governments, Parastatal bodies, utilities and Municipal bodies. He has served many through leadership role in the development of policies. Strategies and innovative totals and products that have greatly assisted most marginalized communities to benefit from improved water, sanitation and hygiene infrastructure and services. He is a member of Institute of Town Planners, India and American Planning Association.
Dina Bandhu Karmakar
One of the pioneer practitioner of Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) in India. Inventor of “Five Percent model” and “30-40 model” of rain water harvesting, that are widely replicated in government programmes in India (particularly MGNREGA) as well as in programmes run by other development actors in rain-fed areas. Provided consultancy in Ethiopia and Kenya for developing locally-specific rainwater harvesting techniques for use by smallholders. Acted as a consultant to IFAD for INRM.
Holds a degree in Agriculture. Attended Programme in Development Management and received Superior Performance Award from the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines. Has been involved in different rural developmental initiatives in different agro-ecological zones in India and African Countries for last 30 years.
He has been responsible for promoting Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) across India in different agro-climate zones spread over the States of Jharkhand, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal and North Eastern States. His innovations have been recognized for an approach to INRM that enhances local people’s livelihoods instead of focusing solely on conservation.
Has held key leadership positions over the past 28 years (From 1988 to 2016) in PRADAN (Professional Assistance for Development Action) one of the largest NGOs of India working with rural poor, promoting locally appropriate activities to improve livelihoods.
Madhuban Pandey completed Post Graduate Program in Entrepreneurship Management from XLRI Jamshedpur (Batch 2016-17) after working 15 years in the development sector to specialize in entrepreneurship, business startup and business management. Recently he has started his own startup company named SCORE Livelihood Foundation to contribute to the local economic development, facilitating the process of micro & small enterprise creation and designing the process for impactful intervention at triple bottom line. His last engagement was with Development Alternatives (DA) Group as Dy. General Manage, where he has worked 9+ years, to contribute independently to the entrepreneurship, local economic development and creating livelihood at the large scale. Prior to Development Alternatives Group Madhuban had worked with Vedanta Foundation as Manager – Academics & Quality in Mumbai and GIZ in India as Project Officer for Min. of Agriculture and Cooperation, Govt. of India in Maharashtra state. Madhuban has 15 years of extensive field experiences and strategic insights into capacity building and training approaches, service delivery mechanism, livelihood and enterprise development, rural market development, social business incubation, corporate client management and management of projects/ programmes. Madhuban is a Master Trainer for Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) program of International Labor Organization. Hetrains the trainers, do the required follow up with them and ensure the creation of the micro and small enterprises.
